The oldest known surviving
photograph of the original St. Colman's College taken c.1860 shows the
building as it was constructed originally without the later extensions.
Interestingly the students are playing cricket on the lawn and it is
believed that one of the onlookers is none other than
Fr. Thomas W.
Croke, first president of St. Colman's.
